I'm a stranger in a strange land, longing for home, longing for blue skies, white clouds and trees that whisper my name.

Hallelujah!
I finished my novel. So excited. So very excited. Can't wait to start the edits, can't wait to tell all my friends, can't wait to send a copy to my agent . . . zzzzzzzzzzzz.
Selena, Thanks so much for listening to my novel-in-progress, barely coherent ramble!
Yes, as soon as I finish up my crazy schedule at work, I am taking off nine days to work on the edits. And Day One of edits will begin this very afternoon!!
Those days before Christmas, I wasn't even taking time to check my Bloglines posts, so I just now saw this. Merrie, this is the GREATEST! I'm so proud of you, so happy, so excited. Yes, as you said, there are more steps to take, but this is a big accomplishment!
I scrambled through the first half of my vacation and got roughly 250 pages edited. I also made 5 pages of notes of things I have to go back and fix, but . . . I still have another 5 days off, after my photo shoot tomorrow.
At some point I'd like to go to a mountain cabin with my husband and the dogs and not think about writing for 3 days.
I'm an urban fantasy author with Harper Voyager, and I now have two novels under my belt. (Hurrah!) Afterlife and Feast are available for purchase just about anywhere and either one of them will temporarily make you forget about doing laundry, cleaning the bathroom or paying your bills. I love writing scary/romantic stories and I firmly believe in HEAs. I'm an animal lover and a tree-hugger and I sometimes forget that I'm wearing my PJs until I go outside to get the mail.
It sounds like it's straight out of Vanilla Sky or Minority Report.
Apparently a company named New Line Genetics wants to add you to their library. They'd like to purchase the patent to your DNA and they're willing to pay you $5,000.
To me, the creepiest part of their "Sell My DNA" Web page is the testimonial by a couple who sold their DNA to start a college fund for their twin daughters.
Talk about an identity crisis.
So, my question of the week is this: Would you sell your DNA for $5000?

Congratulations.
Now, rest. Then, celebrate your accomplishment. Then, get to work on the editing. ;)

I wonder if that will ever really happen!
Blessings on your holidays, Becky!

Congratulations, Merrie!
That's huge!
What a super way to end 2007!
Meeting you was one of my treats in the past year. Huge blessings in 2008.
Sharon,
Thanks so much! I feel the same way about you--you truly are a treasure!
Blessings on your books--I can't wait to see what will come next after the "Restorer" series.
:)
Merrie
